Experimental studies of fiber wet-spinning and solution processing of films of molecular composites are presented. The rigid rod polymer was poly (p-phenylenebenzobisthiazole) (PPBT) and the flexible polymers were poly (2,5(6′)-benzimidazole) (ABPBI) and poly (2,5(6′)-benzothiazole) (ABPBT). Effects of the flexible polymer molecular entanglements in solution on the processing are discussed. These fibers and films have very high modulus and strength, which improve upon heat treatment. The uniaxial modulus of highly oriented molecular composites follows the linear rule of mixtures. 相似文献

Well-defined Ln2Sn2O7 powders (Ln = La, Sm and Gd) with a phase-pure pyrochlore structure were synthesized by hydrothermal reaction. The catalytic activities of Ln2Sn2O7 powders for methane combustion were measured. Methane oxidation started at 500 °C and increased with oxidation temperature. Catalytic methane combustion is strongly influenced by the presence of oxygen vacancies that form by breaking Sn–O lattice bonds as the temperature increases. Addition of manganese to the rare earth pyrochlores improved methane oxidation activity. Manganese-doped samarium stannate pyrochlore (Sm2Sn1.8Mn0.2O7) shows highest the catalytic activity. Light-off and complete oxidation temperatures were measured at about 400 and 650 °C, respectively. 相似文献

Polymethylphenylsilsesquioxane (PMPSQ–OH) and trimethylsilyl end‐blocked PMPSQ (PMPSQ–EC) were prepared. The thermal decomposition behavior of these polymers was studied by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and FT‐Raman spectroscopy. Hydroxyl‐functionalized polystyrene (PS–OH) was also prepared by anionic living polymerization. Thin hybrid films of PMPSQ/PS–OH with various blend ratios were obtained by spin‐coating on freshly cleaned glass. The surface morphology of the hybrid films was investigated by atomic force microscopy (AFM). In 80/20 PMPSQ/PS–OH hybrid film, the PS–OH component produced a very uniformly dispersed phase. This hybrid film contained small domains of PS–OH whose size ranged from 60 to 80 nm. As the content of PS–OH was increased, the domain morphology coarsened and phase inversion took place around 50 wt %. In the phase‐inversed system, the PMPSQ‐rich phase was uniformly distributed in the PS–OH‐rich continuous phase. In addition, temperature‐dependent dielectric properties of PMPSQ/PS–OH hybrids were investigated. Relaxation of the hybrids was observed with an increasing content of the PS–OH component due to the amorphous glass transition behavior of PS–OH. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Shape and size of the synthesized NiO nano-sheets were retained during transformation of sheet-like β-Ni(OH)2 to NiO at elevated temperatures via nano-sized zirconia coating on the surface of β-Ni(OH)2. The average grain size was 6.42 nm after 600 °C treatment and slightly increased to 10 nm after 1000 °C treatment, showing
effective sintering retardation between NiO nano-sheets. The excellent thermal stability revealed potential application at

A pilot-scale sludge treatment plant was built to investigate the feasibility of ozonation processes for waste activated sludge treatment. Ozonation of wastewater sludge resulted in mass reduction by mineralization as well as by supernatant and filtrate recycle. Another advantage of sludge ozonation is a significant improvement of settleability and dewaterability. Experimental results showed that mass reduction of 70% and volume reduction of 85% compared with the control sludge was achieved through the sludge ozonation at a dose of 0.5?gO3/gDS. It is also interesting to note that the filterability deteriorates up to ozone dose of 0.2?gO3/gDS and then improves considerably at a higher ozone dose. The filterability could be improved by chemical conditioning even at a low ozone dose. The economic feasibility by cost analysis reveals that ozonation processes can be more economical than other alternative processes for sludge treatment and disposal at small-sized wastewater treatment plants. 相似文献

A series of aromatic polyimides composed of well‐defined conjugation units were synthesized form 5,5′‐bis(4‐aminophenyl)‐2,2′‐bifuryl (PFDA) and 2,2′‐bis(furyl) benzidine (FurylBZ) with various dianhydrides. The synthesized polyimides emit blue to green light with a quantum yield of 7.3–14.9%, depending on the polymer backbone. In particular, PFDA‐based polymers exhibit extremely narrow photo‐luminescence. The structure, thermal stability, refractive index and dielectric properties of the polymer films were also determined. 相似文献

Unsteady-state periodic operations can improve the optimal steady-state performance of nonlinear chemical processes. To examine if the optimal periodic operation is proper and to obtain the optimal forcing functions subject to various control and state constraints it is suggested in this paper to convert the problems into a form which is suitable for constrained nonlinear programming. The adopted numerical optimization method is based on employing the control parametrization technique and is thus capable of dealing with the problem of multiple input forcings and obtaining optimal forcing functions and/or parameters while subject to general constraints. In this study a model for the drying process in paper production plants was developed based on the mass and heat balances
around drying cycles. Relationships for the heat transfer coefficients between the web and the air as well as between the
drying cylinder and the web were extracted from the closed-loop plant operation data. It was found that the heat transfer
coefficients could be represented effectively in terms of moisture content, basis weight and reel velocity. The effectiveness
of the proposed model was illustrated through numerical simulations. From the comparison with the operation data, the proposed

A novel bismaleimide (BMI), bis(4-maleimidophenoxy-3,5-dimethylphenyl)dicyclopentadiene (DCPDBMI), containing a large dicyclopentadiene (DCPD) and aryl ether linkage, was synthesized from bis(4-aminophenoxy-3,5-dimethylphenyl)dicyclopentadiene and maleic anhydride by the usual two-step procedure that included ring-opening addition to give bismaleamic acid, followed by cyclodehydration to bismaleimide. The monomers were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), proton nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), elemental analyses (EA), and mass spectra (MS). A series of bismaleimide-triazine (BT) resins were prepared from synthesized bismaleimide (DCPDBMI) and then cured with 2,6-dimethyl phenol-dicyclopentadiene dicyanate ester (DCPDCY) at various molar ratios. Thermal properties of cured BT resins (DCPDBMI/DCPDCY) were studied using dielectric analyzer (DEA), dynamic mechanical analyzer (DMA) and thermalgravimetric analyzer (TGA). These data were compared with that of commercial bismaleimide (DDMBMI) cured with bisphenol A dicyanate ester (BADCY). The cured DCPDBMI/DCPDCY exhibits lower dielectric constant, dissipation factor and moisture absorption than those of DDMBMI/BADCY. The effects of blend composition on the glass transition temperatures and thermal stability are discussed. 相似文献

This paper describes a self-aligned fabrication process for diamond gated field emitter array (FEA). Utilizing the non-conformal coverage sputtering conditions of silicon oxide, an interesting “sphere on cone” structure is formed on diamond nano tip array, which is the key point of gate hole opening process. This structure causes shadowing at certain regions of side-wall during Ti / Au gate metal deposition. Removal of “sphere” by wet etching leads to the successful fabrication of a single crystalline diamond gated FEA. Scanning electron microscope observations reveal the fabrication of a uniform emitter array with tip radius of curvature (20 nm) and gate hole (1.4 μm). We also confirmed that no noticeable physical damage exists on tip. In field emission characteristics of the fabricated single crystal diamond gated FEA, gate voltage control of field emission current is realized. 相似文献
